Baby Freiman at 21 weeks - Week of June 27

Happy 21 weeks to Baby Girl Freiman! I was excited to see she's a pomegranate this week - they are one of my favorite fruits. This week we had another ultrasound; during the last one they couldn't get good pictures of her heart due to her position so this was a follow up. She had her legs crossed like a lady. I asked the doctor to confirm she was a "she" and he said it wasn't a good view, but it didn't appear that she had grown anything since the last visit. Her heart looked good and she is measuring at 13 ounces (right on track).

The new symptom this week is leg cramps, which are awful. On the good side, I'm feeling some type of movement at least once a day now.

Highlight of the week: I finished my first knitting project for Baby Girl Freiman! I'm working on a couple of projects at the same time, but it was nice to finally have a completed creation.

What I've learned: Our hospital is pretty awesome (Shady Grove Adventist for local readers). We get a free Birth Advisor to help us with questions prior to delivery, and there's a lot of classes and tours to choose from.  I have signed us up for our Maternity Tour and Childbirth class so far.

Baby Freiman at 20 weeks - week of June 20

Week 20 - otherwise known as "halfway there"! This week has been marked by more emotional symptoms than physical ones. There's been a bit of "information overload" as we continue to work on our registry and filter through all of the reading material and advice that is out there. To everyone who has shared their wisdom and research- thank you! I have found that entirely more helpful than any of the books I've read (more like started then put down) so far.

What I've learned:
*Her taste buds are working this week
*The combination of yoga pants + maternity pants is magical
*Obama is going to give me a free breast pump!

Highlights of the week:
*Fully utilizing the "pregnancy parking" at work

The Week 20 photo features my precious hydrangea plant!

Baby Girl Freiman's First "Four Generations" photo!

On Father's Day we were able to spend time with David's family. I was excited to take our first "four generations" photo with David's grandfather (Zadie), mom (Sharon), David, and Baby Girl Freiman (I'm just a prop in this photo). ;)

Baby Freiman at 19 Weeks - Week of June 13

This week, she's a mango!

There have been a lot of firsts for Baby Girl Freiman this week. She received her first hand-me-downs (thanks Jen!), her first mail (thanks Susie!), and experienced her first two tornado warnings.

I've been feeling pretty good recently, with weird dreams and   sleep discomfort being the "symptoms of the week."  Use of the pregnancy pillow is now in full force.

Highlight of the week:
*I've been feeling her move! Mostly its small flutters, but there's also been some full-body shifts at times.

What I've learned:
*We started our registry this week; it was about as overwhelming as we thought it would be.
*Apparently it is socially acceptable when a person is pregnant to comment daily on their figure. I'm not sure if this makes me uncomfortable because 1) its awkward attention or 2) I'm in HR, but effective this week my belly has been fair game for discussion for co-workers and strangers alike. Things to get used to, I guess! :)

The bump picture will be up tomorrow, but enjoy this "big sis" picture in the meantime:

Baby Freiman at Week 18 - Week of June 6th

For those wondering, the fetus is the size of a sweet potato this week! Apparently the weight of a sweet potato will tip the scale, since I started official weight gain. Also new to this past week were headaches that last pretty much all day and backaches in the mornings. I'm trying to eat lots of bananas and drink tons of water to avoid the dreaded leg cramps that are common around this time.

Highlights of the week:
*Enjoying a beautiful weekend with friends in Cape Cod - thanks to David for doing most of the driving to and from!
*On the way home from Cape Cod we had breakfast in Providence, Rhode Island - my 14th state capital!
*Saving the best for last - finding out Baby Freiman's gender!! We both thought the baby was a boy, so we were in shock when we were told our baby is a girl. We are thrilled and I'm also slightly relieved since I feel like in theory I should know how to raise a girl. :)

What I've learned:
*I was worried we wouldn't be quite sure about which daycares we would like, but as it turns out it's pretty obvious.
*Lana hasn't noticed I'm pregnant, as she walks across my belly in the middle of the night. I'll take it as a reminder that I need to start sleeping on my side anyway!

Here is the week 18 photo- change of scenery due to rain.

Lana will have a baby...

SISTER!!

We had our anatomy scan today and the tech saw lady parts. I can't believe it!! It's great to be able to use the "she" pronoun.

Bring on the prep for Baby Girl Freiman!
